 Painting with good material is essential. When I just getting started with watercolor, I thought I use some cheap ones and upgrade them later on. That end up to be a mistake. Cheap, poor materials will make your job harder! If you use cheap materials, your painting will look cheap. That doesn't mean you buy everything that's out there and you only buy the most expensive product out there. That does mean to find out what works for you and spend money on what's essential.

Dark and wet, dry and light

 This is no news for you if you have painted watercolor before. But watercolor dry lighter. It is frustrated, when you think you got the right color and value on the palette, and when you first put that paint down on the paper. Later find out that it is too light when the paint dry. There’s no way to avoid it, that’s the nature of watercolor, or shall we say physics.
