Simplify what you see, and reconstruct with what you have

Nature is filled with an incredible amount of details. That's what makes it beautiful and majestic. But if you want to capture it in your painting, it's not a good idea try to paint all the details you see. You can get overwhelmed very fast, and you lost sight of the essence of your subject.

Instead of trying to tackle the details, look at the big shape and form. Simplify them into basic primitives and reconstruct them your way. Use what you have to rebuild the image with your visual language. Today's video is focusing on painting individual trees. I show you how to simplify them into basic form and re-interpret them. I hope you enjoy this new video and inspire you to paint some simple trees.
